The fiveØcentral Error Type Collection

This is a work in process - the house collection, if you will. We are defining what we feel is a reasonable type collection for an error collection and leaving room for expansion in any error type. For instance, if you specialize in off-center coins you can expand by denomination and/or date, but the type collection will only have one.

We are adding the Wild! section which is where the coins struck on a car bumper and other strange and improbable errors will go. Since part of the purpose of this set is to enforce discipline, this is also the area listing duplicates I just can't bring myself to trade or sell. In this type collection, that area is limited to ten pieces.

Before They Were Coins - Blanks of all types
Clad & Coating Errors - Coating and layer problems on modern coinage
Die Caps - Coin adheres to die and hits subsequent planchets
Mated Pairs - Both parts of a two at once pair
Multiple Strikes - Hit more than once by the die
Not All Here - Clips, Fragments etc.

Not All Square - Coins struck while improperly seated or die not aligned
The Die Did It - Errors actually in the die - Varieties
Two At Once - Coins struck with more than one coin in the chamber
Wild! - Extreme coins in the collect that don't fit elsewhere
Wrong Planchet - Struck on other denomination or country planchet
Wrong Stock - Right diameter, but thickness of another denomination
